Worker Agreement

Terms for individuals who find and perform jobs through ejumah.

Effective date: [●]

1. Scope

This Worker Agreement applies to an individual who registers to find and perform jobs through Ejumah. It supplements the Terms of Service. If there is a conflict concerning worker-specific obligations, this Agreement applies.

2. Independent status

The worker operates an independent trade or profession and is not an employee, partner, agent or representative of Ejumah. The worker:

  • decides whether to view or quote for available jobs;
  • controls the lawful method of performing accepted work;
  • provides their own tools, transport and ordinary equipment unless agreed otherwise;
  • is responsible for taxes, insurance, licences, assistants and business expenses; and
  • is not entitled to salary, leave, pension, benefits or guaranteed work from Ejumah.

This clause does not override any status that Ghanaian law may determine from the actual relationship.

3. Eligibility and verification

The worker must:

  • be at least 18;
  • provide a Ghana Card, passport or another accepted identity document;
  • complete required identity and liveness/manual video verification;
  • provide truthful skills, experience and qualification information;
  • maintain licences and permits required for regulated work;
  • provide payout and tax information when requested; and
  • promptly report any material change.

A verification badge is not transferable and must not be used by another person.

4. Quotations

The worker must inspect available information and submit a genuine quotation. Quotes must clearly separate:

  • estimated labour;
  • estimated parts or materials;
  • inspection fee, if any;
  • expected duration;
  • assumptions and exclusions;
  • warranty offered; and
  • validity period.

The worker must not intentionally underquote to win a job and later pressure the customer to pay more. Additional costs require advance approval through Ejumah.

5. Inspection

Where an inspection is required, the worker must:

  • attend at the agreed time;
  • act professionally and safely;
  • assess only what is reasonably necessary;
  • explain findings and any revised estimate;
  • avoid starting chargeable work without approval; and
  • record attendance and findings through Ejumah.

An inspection fee is earned only according to the displayed cancellation and attendance rules.

6. Accepting and performing jobs

After acceptance, the worker must:

  • acknowledge the job within the required time;
  • attend on time or notify the customer promptly;
  • use the assigned account personally;
  • follow the agreed scope and approved changes;
  • use suitable parts and materials;
  • comply with safety, environmental and professional requirements;
  • protect the customer's property and confidential information;
  • avoid discrimination, harassment and threatening behaviour;
  • upload required before-and-after evidence; and
  • leave the work area reasonably clean and safe.

7. Arrival and location

The worker may be required to permit location access, confirm arrival through GPS and/or obtain a customer PIN. False location, fabricated arrival or sharing a PIN without actual attendance is prohibited.

8. Assistants and substitution

The worker may not send an unverified substitute or assistant to perform a job unless the platform and customer permit it. The worker remains responsible for authorised assistants and must ensure they are competent, lawful and appropriately supervised.

9. Customer property and access

The worker must use access to a customer's home, business, device, vehicle or account only for the accepted job. Keys, codes, documents, images and personal information must not be copied, retained or disclosed except as necessary for the work or required by law.

10. Payments and wallet

The worker authorises Ejumah and its payment providers to:

  • collect marketplace amounts from customers;
  • deduct disclosed platform, provider, tax, refund, dispute or chargeback amounts;
  • mark earnings pending until release conditions are met;
  • reserve amounts during a warranty, dispute or fraud review; and
  • pay available balances to an approved withdrawal destination.

The worker has no entitlement to a pending or disputed amount until it becomes available under platform rules.

11. Cancellations and non-attendance

A worker must not cancel without a genuine reason. Repeated cancellation, lateness, non-attendance or assignment rejection after commitment may reduce marketplace visibility, affect trust metrics, trigger charges or result in suspension.

A worker must never request cancellation merely to take payment outside Ejumah.

12. Warranty and correction

The worker must honour the warranty stated in the accepted quote and any minimum obligation imposed by law. Where a valid defect is reported, the worker must reasonably cooperate to inspect and correct the defect within the agreed period.

A warranty does not ordinarily cover:

  • unrelated faults;
  • customer misuse or unauthorised modification;
  • normal wear and tear;
  • customer-supplied defective parts where properly disclosed; or
  • matters expressly excluded before acceptance, to the extent lawful.

13. Disputes and evidence

The worker must cooperate with disputes and provide accurate records, quotations, receipts, photos, videos and explanations. Fabricating or deleting evidence is grounds for suspension and may be reported to authorities.

Ejumah may temporarily reserve or reverse marketplace funds while a dispute, refund, chargeback or warranty claim is investigated.

14. Ratings and performance

The worker understands that Ejumah may calculate and display metrics based on jobs, arrival, cancellations, quotation changes, disputes, ratings and warranty outcomes. The worker may request correction of factually inaccurate underlying data.

15. Insurance, licences and tax

The worker is responsible for:

  • occupational, public-liability, vehicle and other appropriate insurance;
  • licences and permits required for the service;
  • income tax, levies and statutory obligations; and
  • compliance with health and safety requirements.

Ejumah may request evidence and may restrict categories of work until satisfactory evidence is provided.

16. Safety and emergency work

The worker must refuse or stop work that is unlawful, outside their competence or presents an unmanaged serious risk. Emergency services must be contacted where appropriate. Ejumah is not an emergency-response service.

17. Off-platform dealings

The worker must not use Ejumah to identify a customer and then request direct payment, conceal a transaction, avoid fees or remove the job from the platform. Doing so removes marketplace protection and may result in fees, withholding, suspension or termination.

18. Confidentiality and data protection

The worker may use customer information only to quote for or perform the relevant job. Marketing, resale, unrelated contact, publication or disclosure is prohibited without lawful permission.

19. Suspension and termination

Ejumah may restrict access for verification failure, unsafe work, fraud, repeated poor performance, serious complaints, payment circumvention, unlawful services or breach of this Agreement.

20. Worker acknowledgements

The worker confirms that:

  • jobs and earnings are not guaranteed;
  • quotes are submitted independently;
  • customers choose the provider;
  • platform metrics are not professional accreditation; and
  • the worker remains responsible for the service delivered.
